The Spot-On training concept

The training creates optimal results by combining different media and methodology.

E-mail training

The employee develops a variety of email templates with the trainer, based on work requirements (e.g. correspondence in the field of import/export, customer care, marketing, recruitment etc.) Additionally, the trainer offers a correction service for specific emails that do not fit within the established template profiles.

Telephone training

The employee calls the teacher and practises business conversation over the phone. This is “real world” telephone training. As in a genuine business phone call, there are no cues available from body posture or facial expression. Communication has to succeed based entirely on vocal dexterity.  A great challenge, especially in international business.

 Classroom training

Classroom training for groups might cover, for example, small talk, overall business language, grammar brush-up, presentation and negotiation techniques, customer care, marketing  etc.

Homework

If requested, the teacher sets homework assignments to facilitate parts of the training process.

Emergency support

In the case of unexpected situations requiring immediate support from the trainer, an SMS alert system can be arranged whereby the trainer initiates telephone or email support as rapidly as possible.

Booklet

The trainer and the student develop a booklet together, containing the questions and answers that they are working on.

Also in the booklet are examples of correspondence, telephone conversation, small talk subjects, social and business experience and potential pitfalls that may cloud communication with the business partner. Should the employee leave the company, the training results do not get lost but can be of enormous benefit to the person who takes over the job.

Advantages

The training focuses directly on the employee’s needs. A traditional group training with participants from different work areas has to consider everyone’s needs, which means a lack of focus and efficiency.

The training goal is clearly defined. At work, the employee always meets the same kinds of challenges. As soon as they become confident in handling these challenges, and can consult the booklet for the answers, the need for training ends.

The group members do not have to find a time during the week for lessons that suit all of them. They arrange the training individually according to their business requirements. As part of the training is online or on the phone, and classroom training takes place only from time to time, the company can make good use of trainers from all over the country or even from abroad. They can hire trainers who offer the skills, knowledge and experience they need.

Training in practice

The trainer agrees with the superior on the training requirements for the employee. They define a goal.
The trainer tests the student and they develop the actual training programme together.
The trainer writes a detailed report every month.
All results are available in the booklet.
